This baby boy is 8 months old and such a happy baby! He was all smiles when momma would talk to him and it was too sweet! We also got a few with him playing with his big brother. Little N is on the move all the time, and it was so funny to watch him do his army crawl. Every time he would pull himself across the floor he would grunt! Ha! Enjoy!

Every year I like to make my kids valentines cards for school, and I think this years are my favs so far. I found the rocker idea and thought it would be so cute if I could get Austins hair to spike, and after a lot of gel and hairspray usage, it worked!! I love the new boutique cards that are now available. They offer many different shapes and they can be used for birth announcements, Christmas cards, senior announcements, and of course, valentines. I cannot believe it has been almost 1 year that I have been photographing this beautiful girl! Little A is one of the prettiest babies I have ever seen. She has big brown eyes with big red lips and I just think she is the cutest thing!! It has been such a joy to watch her grow and change. Enjoy!

This was my first time to do a themed shoot, and I think these are some awesome pics!! I could not be more excited for my friend Jen. She is pregnant with her 3rd daughter and has been on bed rest since very early on due to pre-term labor. We have been praying that she would be able to carry as long as possible for a healthy baby, and so far things have been good. She is now 29 weeks! She did have to go through some of the Texas heat to get these, but I know she is soo excited to have finally been able to get maternity pictures for the first time! (This is the longest she has lasted without being hospitalized during a pregnancy) Anyways, her girls rooms are decorated in adorable shabby chic and her shower will also be themed the same, so we thought it would be really fun to theme her pictures also! Enjoy!

I truly enjoyed 2nd shooting their wedding with Kim from All About Pictures. They had a popcorn bar, a place for people to write on fabric squares that will be turned into a quilt, and of course, lots of dancing. It was a beautiful wedding and I feel so privileged that I was able to capture some of it. Congratulations Zach and Reji!

That is how I would describe my friend Suzanne. She is going to have another sweet little boy any day now, so we grabbed just a couple shots of her with little A and then some of little A before he gets his first hair cut. I always enjoy spending time them, and I can't wait to meet her next baby boy!!

Little A loves playing the drums, so we got a few and I thought it would be fun to make it rockerish. The texture has music notes in it and I thought it was fun.

For my final bluebonnet session, I got to enjoy it with two kids I love. Little L turned 2 in January and all of the sudden has all this cute curly hair, and her big brother just looks so grown up to me!! They were so sweet together, and I really think we got some keepers!

My baby boy turned 5 this past Sunday, so we took his 5 year pics today. He has such a funny personality. When he was little he was always the sweet, shy and quiet one. I don't really know what happened, but now he is funny, outgoing, and always making faces. As a photographer I had the perfect image in my head of what I wanted for his 5 year pics, but as a mom, I took what I could get and I love them because it's his personality and all the little faces I see on a daily basis. I love watching my baby grow up, although I wish I could just hit the pause button so it could last a little longer. Enjoy!

Understanding Copyright Laws

I wanted to share some information that I came across because I feel like a lot of people just don't know. To be honest, before becoming a photographer, I knew you couldn't copy pictures, but I didn't really know the full extent of the law when it came to having a professional photographer take your family pictures. Here are a few laws of copyright and reasons why they are so important.

“Copyright” describes the rights given to creators for their literary and artistic works.

We often don’t consider copyright when we look at our family photos, or go to get them copied. Even though it is so easy to copy an image—with scanners, photo-quality printers, and copy stations—it is still illegal.

•Copyright is a property right.
•Just because you buy a print does not mean you have purchased the copyright.
•Professional photographers are the smallest of small copyright holders.
•Under the Federal Copyright Act of 1976, photographs are protected by copyright from the moment of creation.
•Photographers have the exclusive right to reproduce their photographs (right to control the making of copies).
•Unless you have permission from the photographer, you can’t copy, distribute (no scanning and sending them to others), publicly display (no putting them online), or create derivative works from photographs.
•A photographer can easily create over 20,000 separate pieces of intellectual property annually.
•Professional photographers are dependent on their ability to control the reproduction of the photographs they create.
◦It affects their income and the livelihood of their families.
•Even small levels of infringement—copying a photo without permission—can have a devastating impact on a photographer’s ability to make a living.
•Copyright infringements—reproducing photos without permission—can result in civil and criminal penalties.

As of January 2010, I made some changes because I had many people asking me about being able to buy the digital negatives. I have to admit that it was a very difficult decision. I thought a lot about it, and I realize this is a digital age. People want to be able to email their pictures and print them for scrapbooking and other things, so I wanted to make that possible. That is why I chose to sell Cd's this year. The Cd's come with a photographers release that gives you permission to do those things. I would like to add, that I have an amazing printing company who's quality cannot be beat! I will always suggest having prints made through me, especially the larger prints. Brownwood Family...

We go to visit family every year before Christmas and I am lucky enough to get to take pics of my hubby's sister and her kids. I was supposed to do both his sisters, but I guess with the snow and all it made it slightly too cold to be able to do his youngest sister, but I did grab her son for a few. Anyways, it's always great to see everyone, and I hope you love the pics.

Ohh, I didn't mention that this part of the family is what I like to call "country". They have horses, and my niece rides in rodeo at school and wanted some pics with the horse. We didn't have time to get him ready for action pics, but those can come later.

As the year is coming to a close with Christmas quickly approaching, I will be taking this time to be with my family and enjoy the rest of the season. I decided it was a great evening to take the kids to look for some spring flowers while they are here. We drove....ALOT....because you know, we live far away from anything. You might be thinking, then that works out great for flowers if you live near open fields. Well, I am super smart, so....I had my family drive to the city and then all the way back to down the road from where we live, where of course, there were pretty flowers. Uhhgggggg. I know, I know....I am SUPER smart!! : )

I made cards for Elise to give away at school and I made a separate card for Austin and Elise to send to a few family members. Just thought I would share them with you. So I got to take pics of a sweet girly girl today and it was soooo cute!!! I don't get girly from my daughter, so it's fun to get it from someone else's. This is my neighbors little girl and I picked her up from school and brought her home, did her hair, and snapped some Valentine pictures. Everyone always says that time flies like crazy, I hear it all the time, I say it all the time, especially after you have kids.

December 31st!!! Isn't that a great date!! It's the end of year, which means new beginnings, it means you get to celebrate the year before, and for our family it means we get to celebrate our daughters birthday.

She will be six, and as I type I'm starting to cry because it feels like she should be turning 2 or something. I remember the doctors office called me on the 30th and said, well, looks like your going to have her tomorrow. She wasn't due until Jan
14th, but to show how stubborn we would soon find out she was, she was breech and they preferred c-section.

Anyways, for exactly 6 years I have had the privilege, even though I haven't always acted that way, to raise my very high spirited, beautiful little girl. Happy Birthday Elise!! And who can post with no pics. Here are some random pics I took of her. She gets her good looks from me!! hehe jk jk

Christmas Song...

Christmas is the best time of the year!!! I didn't grow up with a lot of traditions, but I always knew what Christmas was really about. It is my desire for my kids to know the same. (we added some fun traditions with it) We got Elf on the Shelf and the kids have just been loving it. My husband even had him hanging from the chandelier one morning. It was too funny. Every year we bake Jesus a birthday cake and sing him happy birthday. It's the most decorated cake I have ever seen, but we talk about Jesus while they do it. I told my kids that Santa brings gifts because he is celebrating Jesus birthday.

This has been a year of very new things for me. Not working (at an 8 to 5 job) has been different. It was the hardest decision I have ever made (because I am fearful) but yet God has blessed us in the midst. I have been able to do so much more photography and I have an amazing husband and great friends and clients who have supported me through it and for that I am thankful. But above all, God has taken me down a path I never could have imagined I would be. It's crazy looking back at how He strategically placed people in my life at a certain time.

What is Christmas to you? Right now, I want to take the opportunity to tell you what Christmas is to me. Christmas is knowing that God sent his Son as a tiny baby, knowing the future, because He loved us that much. It's the feeling you get when you hear that perfect song that makes you throw your hands up in praise. It's the feeling you get when you feel God next to you, guiding you. It's the forgiveness for everything He knew I would do and so much more....

I added a song, that I absolutely love, and I hope you do also. Listen to it, watch it, or close your eyes and just praise the God that came to earth so long ago, only to die on a cross for me.....for you......

Well, yesterday was my 29th birthday, and it was a crazy day!! First my husband and I got up at 3am to go shopping while my kids stayed with Grandma. We finally got home around 12:30 and I had a shoot at 2. Then I came home, my sweet hubby got me the best dinner ever!! (Mac Grill with nothing other than my fav chocolate cake) And then I edited pics and finally went to bed at about 9:30 and my baby boy starting throwing up at 10:30! Poor thing! Soooo, it is now 9am and all is well for now in our household. To start the morning I thought I would post a few pics from yesterday! I love this family!! Little O is such a princess and wanted to wear her dress and the petti skirt. Too funny!! Enjoy!

First, I would like to say that my favorite blog to read is called Bring the Rain. If you have read her story you will know why. She is an amazing Christian women and an inspiring writer. This week she challenged her readers to 7 days of prayer over our children. I have added her prayer button to the right, and if you would like to read her challenge, please feel free. We can't pray enough for our children!!

Second, I have decided to change my pricing. As we all know, the economy is not great, and as much as I love photography, my desire is that anyone who would love to have it hanging in their homes and enjoy those memories for years to come, should be able to afford it. So, I have decided to lower my prices for the time being.

Keep checking my blog, I am so excited about Christmas that I will be offering some fun deals in the upcoming days and weeks. I am thinking free session fees and 40% of prints and any other great deals I can come up with.

This weekend we went to visit our family in Brownwood, Texas. I have been there lots of time, but this time I had the privilege of taking some pictures of my nephews and nieces.
